The brand “NOURI”, aims to bring products in the home and fashion segments, catering to a target audience of all ages. The feel of the place is urban but ethnic, with the use of vibrant colours complimenting the traditional arches and intricate handicraft by local craftsmen. Being a part of the “women supporting women” group, the client wanted to work closely with other female small business owners in the Tricity area. She wanted a space that promoted the authentic Rajasthani culture while also not taking the limelight off her merchandise in the fashion and home décor department. The ceilings are done by a beautiful fabric falling like a tent and creating the unique ambience compared to a conventional retail store. An old family heirloom, a wooden “sanduk” (a traditional cupboard) was revived to use as a storage in the store along with an old wooden frame with intricate carvings was used a mirror frame and painted over with refreshing colours to add that pop. The display tables were woven my local craftsmen and the furniture too was hand crafted by Rajasthani local artisans. The front of the store was designed to have an arcade with some traditional arches painted in a beautiful cyan colour that would make it stand out from the rest of the market area.
